Benchmarks: install to trial 10.9% and trial to paid 25.6% are Adapty's 2026 global averages; install to paid 2.6% is RevenueCat's 2026 North America median within 35 days. Each renewal default sits inside RevenueCat's ranges, with later renewals set so twelve-month retention lands on Adapty's (weekly 5.5%, monthly 14.2%). Examples to replace with your own: installs, plan shares, prices and trial length.

Not modelled: refunds, billing retry, price changes, payout delay.

How it works

How to Model Subscription Revenue in Three Steps

Three groups of inputs, one result

  1. Enter your funnel

Monthly installs, then whether you offer a free trial: the share of installs that start one and the share of trials that pay, or the share that pay straight away.

  2. Set plans and renewals

For the weekly, monthly and annual plan, the share of new subscribers, the price, and how many renew the first time and every time after.

  3. Read month 12

Net revenue in month 12, then month by month for two years, what each install is worth and what the store keeps. Change one input and watch the rest move.

What you get

Why Use Our Free Subscription Calculator

What it does with your numbers

  • Free, no account

No sign-up and no limit. It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.

  • Every plan bills on its own clock

A weekly plan renews every 7 days and an annual one once a year, each with its own first and later renewal rate, cohort by cohort for 730 days.

  • Benchmarks you can trace

Each default says where it comes from, Adapty or RevenueCat, or that it is an example, so you know which numbers are the market's and which to replace.

  • The store's cut built in

15%, Apple's 30% or Apple's EU 26%, taken from the price net of VAT on every payment, and 15% once a subscriber has paid for a year.

Who it's for

Who It Helps

Who it is for and what they use it for

  • Indie developers

Check whether a new price, a trial or a weekly plan pays before you ship the paywall.

  • Founders selling an app

Put a month-12 figure you can explain next to the valuation a buyer asks about.

  • Product managers

See how a few points on the first renewal move two years of revenue, not just next month.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions people ask

How is the month-12 revenue worked out?

Every day for 24 months, a 365th of a year of installs arrives. The share that pays makes its first payment after the trial, or on the install day without one, and then renews on its plan's clock: the first renewal at your first-renewal rate, each one after at your later-renewal rate. Month 12 is the last twelfth of the first 365 days, after the store fee and VAT, and the chart runs on to month 24.

Where do the default conversion rates come from?

10.9% install to trial and 25.6% trial to paid are the global averages in Adapty's State of In-App Subscriptions 2026. Without a trial, 2.6% install to paid is RevenueCat's State of Subscription Apps 2026 median for North America within 35 days. Your category and your markets can sit far from them, so use your own once you have them.

What are the first and later renewal rates?

The first renewal rate is the share of new subscribers who pay a second time; the later rate is the share who keep paying at each renewal after that. The defaults are weekly 45% then 96%, monthly 52% then 89% and annual 30% then 60%. The first renewals sit inside RevenueCat's April 2026 category medians, and the later rates are set so twelve-month retention lands near Adapty's 5.5% for weekly and 14.2% for monthly plans.

Which store fee should I pick?

15% if you are in Apple's Small Business Program, which covers developers with no more than USD 1M in proceeds the previous calendar year, or sell on Google Play, where a subscription costs 10% plus a 5% billing fee in the US, UK, EEA, Australia and Japan and 15% in most other countries. Otherwise Apple charges 30% in a subscriber's first paid year and 15% after it, and 26% then 15% on the EU App Store from 1 October 2026.

How does Apple's lower fee after a year show up?

Apple lowers its fee to 15% once a subscriber has a year of paid service, and free trial days do not count. The calculator runs 24 months, so every payment after a subscriber's first paid year is charged 15%: an annual plan's first renewal, a monthly plan's 13th payment and a weekly plan's 54th. It shows in the second year.

How is VAT handled?

Enter the VAT included in your price. The store takes its fee from the price net of VAT, and the calculator does the same. Use 0 for US prices, where sales tax is added on top of the price.

What does the calculator leave out?

Refunds, billing retry recovery, price changes and the store's payout delay. It counts cash as the store charges it, so the figures are what your subscribers pay after the fee and VAT, not when the money reaches your account.

Is it free, and are my numbers stored?

It is free with no account and no limit. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type leaves it.
